My final task is done and uploaded! This is my first ever opening sequence. This process was fun and many new techniques were used. I am happy with how it came out and I hope you enjoy it!

Final Task: Coming to an end

I'm still surprised that I have only 1 more day! This means this is my last production blog for my final task. The next big step is to publish my film. I'm looking forward to finishing and being able to say it's done. Now is the time to work fast. Getting in my last editing and clips are important. It will take good time management and being quick on the computer. Looking back, the final task had many parts leading up to it. I had to do many research and title blogs but it was useful in the end. So far what I need to get down is the 2-minute mark. Some clips I have filmed are way too long so I have to shorten them. Since I wanted to have multiple scenes they have to join well together in some way. I found that some transitions don't go well if it's fast paced. For example, the swipe across the screen transition doesn't look smooth on some clips. Luckily, if I did want to use this, I can increase the speed of the transition. Additionally, since the final task

Final Task: Almost there

Today is the second to last blog before my final task is due. After I publish my next blog the next thing is uploading the film. I still feel a bit behind but I know I'll catch up. Today was a rainy day. Because of this, I decided to do more filming. I think when it's rainy the atmosphere is more "thriller" than it would be if it was sunny. For example, my opening clip was to have the blinds open up. If the blinds open to a sunny sky it seems like a good day. But.. if it opens up to dark/ gloomy weather then it's eerie. Overall it was worth it. On Thursday the only thing I should have to do is editing and uploading. I noticed anytime I watch movies now I notice the opening sequence more. The research blogs really help me learn more about it so it has become interesting. After watching some videos I found more ideas to do when filming today. I tried to a scene where the audience can see the door open and there are hands holding it from the other side. It's bet

Final Task: Preparing

It is almost the deadline for the final task. After this, I will have a CCR. It would be nice to start that this weekend but I'm not sure I will have the time.  The last Critical Reflection wasn't as long as the new one. For my final task CCR, I will have way more filming to do. My speaker previously was my mom. This will most likely be the case again. I remember a lot of times we ended up not being able to remain serious. I enjoyed this because although we had trouble we could take as many retakes as we needed. Lately, it's been hard to do work. I just had my last lacrosse game so this gives me much more time after school and on the weekends. For other classes, I also have a project due that's for Cambridge so I plan to be busy. Luckily I still have time. Last project I still worked until the last day making sure everything was correct. Looking back it would have been nice to be working in a group. However, I am glad I decided to work alone. This is because I've be

Final Task: Effects of Titles

Image
Last week I had a 3 day weekend. I was able to do add onto research for editing. What I mostly need to work on is uploading. The last time I uploaded stuff to my computer it didn't take too long but I had more space. Because I have the film from my previous project on the computer I will have to make some more room. Also because this project is longer than the commercial I will have way more clips. This weekend I also visited the titles websites again. These websites were, "art of the title" and "watch the titles". For many opening sequences, they used different transitions. When I went back onto the editing app I'm using 'clip champ' they have a "credits roll" feature I can use. Some of the features on Clip Champ are useful because I can slow down the entering and leaving of my titles. Additionally, some of the opening sequences on the art of the title didn't have many transitions. This was because what was shown in the background had

Final task: closer to deadlines!

Today I had a bunch of work for other classes so nothing much happened. Luckily tomorrow we have Friday off. Until then I have just been planning. Because my original plan was to have two of the same person in one clip I am thinking this might be too hard. This will need editing so I can have both frames looks like one. If that makes sense. So instead of having one person be both the “normal” and the “clone, I can have someone be a stalker or even have a mask on. This will still follow the same layout I have in my storyboard. Luckily doing either one or two people wouldn't change the plot. Overall I am still going to try the original plan first. I’m most likely only having my mom and I as the actors since we wouldn’t have to go out much and find other people. Technical wise I have been good. I have my canon camera and phone camera so storage isn’t a problem. Additionally, since I switched my phone a while back I now can shoot in a wide lens setting. This can zoom out twice the len
