Commercial

After completing my first ever commercial I am pretty happy with the results. I went into this project having little to no experience. I wasn't familiar with transitions, cuts, angles etc.. These new techniques took a while be familiarized. To shoot the commercial I used my Cannon Rebel T6.  I am comfortable using this camera and all of the features.  I noticed that because I like photography I also enjoyed filming. Moreover, I was able to use many techniques I used when doing photography to help with lighting. Looking back something I would change is my timing. Dealing with athletics I had to work on this project more at night. The late hours meant less sunlight so I had to improvise. However, Having a clear idea and strategies did help me though throughout filming. I found that creating a storyboard allowed me to look back at my thoughts. For my commercial I used many at home props. I was able to use objects around my house such as cardstock that my mom had on hand. This cardstock wasn't much but it helped a lot by adding a vibrant background color. I used my iPad to provide extra light as needed.  I also incorporated fresh peppers into my video.  I used both jalapeno peppers and red chili peppers.  I faced some challenges when uploading my videos onto my computer but in the end, I believe this project increased my interest in film making.
