Filming for Music Video Part 1
As I finished my research, planning, and storyboard, it is now time begin filming. Today I looked back at my sketch and visualized where in my house I would start. Before I started filming I charged up my camera and made sure it was filming properly. For my filming I started out setting up for the second part of the music video. I filmed both actors inside and outside so I had different options when editing. For today actor #1 and #2 had to be filmed dancing, putting on a record, and then posing for a picture. Because the theme of the music video was a dance/night out, I dressed actor 1 and 2 in semi-formal attire. When filming It was hard to get the right lighting when the actors were dancing. I also had to try and transition the scene smoothly when actor 2 puts on the record. When filming I had fun with background props and lights. For example I used a disco light I had and put it in the dancing scene. This created the room to have lights spinning around it and I think it went well with the video story. Additionally I had to make sure all my clips weren't too long so I could stay under the time limit. Because of this I didn't have the actors dance for too long as they had 2 more scenes to film in that setting. When filming we had to leave some parts for the next day because of props. The props are photos that I took during the second half of the dance. This then will be the picture that Actor #1 is holding in the opening scene. It is sort of confusing trying to type out the idea but overall the video will have a reminiscing effect. For my next filming day I will then print out the pictures I took in Filming day 1, and then film actor #1 glancing through the photos with a over the shoulder angle.
