Planning for my Music Video

To prepare for my music video I will have to gather props, costumes, and actors for this genre. For this theme I will use what I have researched about the conventions in order to lead me in the direction I want to go. 

Props

For my props I plan on using older clothes and accessories that I have in my house. For one of my ideas in my video I plan on using a calendar to mark the date of September 21st. I plan to do this because the actor will have a flashback to this night and when this scene happens I wanted to include the calendar so it makes sense that it happened on that day. 

In my video there will be a variety of costumes. In the opening scene the actor would be in their normal clothes as if they are in the present. Then as they look back into the past that's when there clothes change to that time period. When the actor changes time their costume will most likely fun and bright ass if they were going out to a party. 

The main filming location will be my house. I plan on putting up a sort of back drop for a transition part in the video. Settings will have bright colors and edited to fit the theme of the video. My beginning scene will most likely be in my room and then transition. 

Schedule

  • Research and planning by 11/17/2020.
  • Create a Storyboard 11/20/2020.
  • Plan to finish filming by 12/3/2020.
  • Editing by 12/7/2020.
  • Music video done and final editing by 12/8/2020.
Backup Plan
Because most of my stuff will be filmed at home the weather shouldn't interfere with filming. However, if I end up not using any friends as actors I can use my parents or just have myself in the video. Additionally if I can't have help from someone such as holding the camera, I will use a tripod or designated stand for filming. If my original idea does not end up making any sense I will make sure to come up with new ideas for filming in that time.

Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

Storyboard scenes 1-12 In my first scene actor #1 will be in the frame either wide shot or mid shot. Actor #1 will be holding a picture and a behind the back angle will be slowly be zooming into her closer.  In the second scene actor #1 will still be in the shot but only from the waist up. As the song is starting out the main part says "do you remember" this will be symbolized through the video as Actor #1 is remembering her night on September 21st. Frame number 3 will now have a up close shot of her hand. When the shot is up close you can now clearly see the two people standing in the picture. The picture is warm and colorful and looks as if it was at a dance. The photo is know extreme up close and is in the same position. As the video goes on you can see that the photo comes to life. Production Blog ~the importance of scenery

  In the process of my final task, props and settings will be very important. Many of my titles will fall onto props that I use. By this, I mean from the transitions of the different names. This will be done during my editing process. For example, when the camera cuts to a box, the titles may appear inside the box as the actor opens it. This creates fun transitions that use elements of the plot. During filming, I'll take multiple clips with different items. This allows me to have options for the backgrounds. The titles I include may also match the color of the prop. During certain scenes the setting may be the sky, so an example of matching titles is a dark blue or even white font color to represent clouds. Additionally, because the sequence is 2 minutes, the dialogue can't be very long. The dialogue will contribute to the setting and tone of the film. Creating a clear dialogue is the main objective.
