Planning Storyboard for my Music Video
- Storyboard scenes 1-12
- In my first scene actor #1 will be in the frame either wide shot or mid shot. Actor #1 will be holding a picture and a behind the back angle will be slowly be zooming into her closer.
- In the second scene actor #1 will still be in the shot but only from the waist up. As the song is starting out the main part says "do you remember" this will be symbolized through the video as Actor #1 is remembering her night on September 21st.
- Frame number 3 will now have a up close shot of her hand. When the shot is up close you can now clearly see the two people standing in the picture. The picture is warm and colorful and looks as if it was at a dance.
- The photo is know extreme up close and is in the same position. As the video goes on you can see that the photo comes to life. This photo is now "moving" because Actor #1 had a flashback.
- In scene 5 you can now fully see actor #2. This actor is seen putting on a record for the music. Scene 5 is still up for debate whether or not it should go in an earlier frame or be "the picture" she is holding at first.
- In scene 6 you can see an up close shot of the record player. I chose to film this because on the record player will be the group Earth, Wind, and Fire. This is the singers of the song September which my music video is created to. When Actor #1 put on the record they are now dancing to this song and it as if they listened to it on this day as well.
- Drawing 7 shows actor #1 and #2 dancing. I will film the actors dancing and choose a small clip of them to put in the video. I will be adding backgrounds and a disco effect with a colorful disco light I have. I want to try and incorporate a projector but I might not have the materials to do so.
- Now I will come into the scene but only from an angle, you can see me fully but you can see that I am holding a camera. I am going to ask the dancers to take a picture as if I am the camera man at their dance.
- As I take the picture both actors pose for the picture. In my video I am going to add a flash effect so it can be noticeable when they picture is taken. After the flash goes off , the frame and pose they are in freezes. Both actors are still in the same pose and the scene is in a frozen position in the video. This is going to go with the transition in scene 11 where they become a photo.
- The camera is now at a high angle hovering back to actor #1s hand. When you look at her hand you can see the photo she was holding is the photo that I took and that they posed for.
- The camera continues to back up in a over the shoulder angle, this gives more of a view of actor #1 again.
- In scene 12 this is the ending of the music video. Actor #1 drops the photo of her and actor #2 in a pile of the other photos taken that night. As the song says " do you remember, the 21st night of September" I am trying to symbolize in my video that there is a flashback. When actor #1 looks at her photo they come alive, and that's why when I have them pose for a picture it was also one of the pictures she kept.
I hope my concept for the video is clear and I'm excited to show my ideas through film!
