  • Images of food and waiters are priotozied in the opening scenes. 
  • Later in the sequence dialogue has started and the setting niw takes place in a party and bar.

 - What connotations do these images carry?

  • These images carry both a negative and postive connotation. The postive comes from the idea that it is just people enjoying dinner and dessert. The negativre comes from the correlation to something bad and the red symbolizing blood. 

 - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

  • The opening sequence begins with soft violin music.
  • The atmosphere is elegant and sleek with a slow motion editing. 
  • The softnest of the beging later changes as the character begins yelling at the bartender.

 - What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? 

  • The opening sequence uses food as a strategy to show thriller. This is shown when drops of red "cranberry sauce" falls onto a white background. This red symbolizes blood but in reality it is not.

- How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.

  • Camera angles for the opening sequence have been used smartly. The up close angles porttray the food to relate to horror. Editing techniques such as the slo motion eiting adds to the delcacy and fanciness the setting (restraunt) has.
